Jewelry Makers Market: Meet Lea Chandler
I always knew I had a passion for art. I studied commercial art in college while pursuing a degree in television production. During my career in TV news, I spent my free time painting & drawing.
My initial start in jewelry came as I was painting geometric designs in watercolor, and a friend said they would make great earrings. I adopted a coating process with acrylic resin to create 3-dimensional pendants and earrings with bold designs, colors and beads.
After a long hiatus raising my children and working in our family business, I was recently inspired to experiment with new ways to paint and make jewelry.
My current pieces blend natural elements like stone, with leather, glass beads, and brilliant metals to create pieces of unique and versatile wearable art.
